US Thread G & M Bobbins
Choosing the right bobbin style requires making sure the dimensions are suitable for your sewing machine. Check your machine or previous bobbins to identify the correct bobbin for your machine. The thickness of the thread on the bobbin is called the thread size. As the thread size increases, the thread’s tensile strength increases and the number of yard on the bobbin decreases. If the item in which the thread is being used is outdoors, bonded polyester bobbins are more suitable due to UV and mildew resistance.
The G style bobbin is usually used in small to mid-sized commercial sewing machines for sewing leather, upholstery & garments.
The M style bobbin is used with mid-sized and larger commercial machines for canvas, upholstery, leather and heavy fabric.
US Thread offers G & M style bobbins in bonded nylon #69 and bonded polyester #92. Please refer to the bonded color card for colors available for G & M bobbins.
